Grenaa is the largest town in Djursland and is a well-equipped shopping town with around 200 shops. Here you’ll find everything from designer clothes and shoes, arts and crafts, Danish design, flowers etc.
Three pedestrianstreets meet at the square, and from here the shops lie in a pedestrian zone. Getting hungry? there's a wide choice of cozy cafés, gourmet restaurants and fast-food restaurants right in the center of Grenaa.
As you walk around the town, you can enjoy many sculptures and various art exhibitions from both local as well as national artists. Grenaa Church lies in the square and contains one of the finest organs in Northern Europe as well as an acclaimed glockenspiel with 42 bronze bells.
Close to Grenaa town center is ‘Åbyen’ – an artificial island surrounded by canals. The path from here leads all the way from the town to the harbor and on the way you will pass even more shops. The woods and heathland starts here and there is a well-developed network of paths and tracks for hikers, cyclists and horse riders.
Grenaa harbor consists of 4 harbors including a fishing harbor and a modern marina. At the marina there is both great restaurants and shops and from here it is possible to enjoy a panoramic view over 7 km. of beautiful sandy beach.
