Grenaa- A sea-side town, yet in the centre of Denmark

Grenaa is Djursland’s largest town and is a busy market town with about 200 shops and boutiques. Here you’ll find everything from designer clothes and shoes, arts and crafts, Danish design, flowers etc.  Three streets meet at the square and from here the shops lie in pedestrian areas. When hunger hits, there is a broad choice of cosy cafés, restaurants and fast food places.

As you walk around the town, you will notice many sculptures and various art exhibitions. Grenaa Church lies in the square and contains one of the finest organs in Northern Europe as well as an acclaimed glockenspiel with 42 bronze bells.

Close to Grenaa town centre is a man-made island called ‘Åbyen’ surrounded by canals. The path from here leads all the way from the town to the harbour and on the way you will pass more shops. The woods and heath start here and there is a well developed network of paths and tracks for hikers, cyclists and horse riders.

Grenaa harbour has 4 harbours including a fishing harbour and a modern sailing harbour. Here there is a restaurant and shops and from here it is possible to enjoy the panoramic view over Grenaa’s 7 km sandy beach. Perfect for families and with all modern facilities.
